Attorney Anne Koch

Anne founded The Koch Law Firm in 2009 after working for a few years for an immigration non-profit organization and a boutique immigration firm. Her goal was to provide her clients with a truly personalized service by handling their cases from beginning to end without any intermediary. If you choose Anne as your attorney, you will never deal with a receptionist or a paralegal. You will have an attorney who knows you and your immigration situation and answers your questions personally.

Anne’s interest in immigration issues comes from her own story: she is an immigrant to the United States who became a United States citizen in 2006. Before becoming a lawyer, Anne taught Spanish at the college level. Her knowledge of Spanish and of French, her native language, allows her to help her Spanish and French-speaking clients in their own language, without the need for an interpreter.

Anne is a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) and served for several years as the chair of the Citizenship committee and of the Military Assistance Program of the local chapter of AILA. She also co-organized DACA clinics at the beginning of the program. She was a speaker at several local immigration conferences.

Anne earned a Ph.D. in Spanish from Vanderbilt University and a J.D. from Georgia State University College of Law.

What we do

Áreas de práctica

HOW WE WORK

Consultations: Immigration law shouldn’t be complicated, but it is. Not everybody qualifies to apply for an immigration benefit  and applying for a benefit if you are not eligible for it can have very serious consequences. This is why it is very important to obtain an accurate and honest assessment of your immigration situation. This can only be done with an in-depth consultation. During the consultation the attorney will ask you many questions about your  immigration history, your family situation, your criminal history (if any), your tax history  and about anything  that would be relevant to your specific situation. The goal of the consultation is to provide you with an in-depth analysis of your immigration situation; determine if you qualify to apply for an immigration benefit; and if you do, to explain the process to apply for that benefit. Consultations are confidential but do not create an attorney/client relationship. A consultation usually takes about an hour and a half. The fee is $180 and is not refundable.

Fees: We provide our services on a flat-fee basis, not an hourly basis. That fee is determined at the end of the consultation: each situation is different and some cases are more complex and time-consuming than others, which is why we need to have all the relevant information about your case before we can tell you how much we will charge.  That fee is for the work we will do on your case and does not include what the government charges.

Payments:  Although our pricing is very reasonable, we understand that cost can be an obstacle. In order to make our services more affordable, we offer payment plans.
